LALIZAS continues to expand its global presence across the Americas. Following its entry into North America with the acquisition of LALIZAS/ALEXANDER in 2018, REVERE SURVIVAL in 2024, and the launch of LALIZAS Canada in 2025, the company is now setting sail for South America with the acquisition of ATIVA NÁUTICA—Brazil’s leading lifejacket manufacturer.
This milestone represents a major step in LALIZAS’ global growth and celebrates a company that has shaped Brazil’s nautical safety sector for more than 20 years.
Founded in 1998 by Marta Lara and Roberto Sampaio in Campinas, São Paulo, Ativa began as a small 250 m² workshop with just three employees. Through dedication and hard work—and with the support of their niece and partner, Julia Ramalho—Ativa grew into Brazil’s leading name in lifesaving equipment. Today, its team has expanded to 200 people, and Julia will continue her journey with LALIZAS to preserve Ativa’s culture and values.
LALIZAS deeply appreciates businesses that rise from humble beginnings, as it too started in a small house in Piraeus, Greece, with only three employees.
Recognising the moment to take Ativa to the next level, Marta and Roberto chose to partner with LALIZAS—an organisation known for elevating companies while honouring their identity. Confident in LALIZAS’ reputation for strengthening and transforming businesses without compromising their roots, Ativa embraced the opportunity to join a global family.
“Ativa is like my third child,” said Marta Lara. “Seeing it become part of a global group with such a prestigious history makes us proud and honoured. Knowing that LALIZAS will care for it, help it grow, and respect its legacy gives me peace of mind.”
LALIZAS has a strong track record of successful integrations, including the acquisition of leading Italian companies in 2012 (Lofrans’, MAX POWER, Nuova Rade, and OCEAN Fenders) and ARIMAR in 2019, each maintaining its distinct character within the group.
“This acquisition demonstrates LALIZAS’ global strength—not only as a safety equipment manufacturer, but as a trusted industry leader that empowers companies to become even more successful and profitable while preserving their heritage and people,” commented Stavros Lalizas, Founder & CEO of LALIZAS.
LALIZAS is proud to welcome Ativa to #thelalizasforce and is committed to advancing Brazil’s nautical industry through its extensive expertise and high-quality equipment. “This step reinforces our presence in the Americas and opens new opportunities in a rapidly growing market. Together, we are setting new standards in safety—across continents,” he concluded.
