PRISMA’s MICE-1 is now in orbit!

Greece in Space: Successful Launch of Transporter-15 – Greece’s First IoT Nanosatellite MICE-1 by Prisma Electronics Now in Orbit

On Friday, November 28, at 20:44 EET, the Transporter-15 mission by SpaceX successfully launched aboard a Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. As part of the mission, MICE-1 (Maritime Identification and Communications systEm), the first Greek IoT nanosatellite, was successfully deployed into orbit.

This milestone marks a historic achievement for the Greek tech community, the shipping industry, and domestic space innovation.

MICE-1 is the first Greek nanosatellite specifically designed for maritime and IoT communication applications. Developed entirely at Prisma Electronics’ facilities in Alexandroupolis, it aims to bring Greek shipping—and critical operational infrastructures in disaster scenarios—closer to the capabilities of space.

With real-time data collection and secure, two-way communication, MICE-1 contributes to reducing environmental footprint and promoting green technologies in shipping.

A new chapter for Greece in Space has officially begun.
