HEMEXPO at SMM HAMBURG 2026

SMM Hamburg 2026: Greek Maritime Technology Well Represented Across the Exhibition

SMM Hamburg 2026 once again brought together the international maritime community and provided an important platform for Greek maritime equipment manufacturers to present their products, technologies and expertise to a global audience.

Through the Hellenic Pavilion and with the support of Enterprise Greece, the member companies across multiple exhibition halls, the Greek maritime equipment industry maintained a strong and visible presence throughout the exhibition.

In total, 14 HEMEXPO member companies exhibited at SMM Hamburg 2026, both at the Pavilion and in Halls A1, B5 and B6, while many more member companies and representatives were present on site throughout the week.

One of the highlights of the exhibition was the networking reception hosted at the Hellenic Pavilion, which brought together members, partners and friends of the maritime industry. The reception provided an opportunity to reconnect with longstanding partners, meet new contacts and exchange views with representatives from across the international maritime community.

The Pavilion also welcomed a number of distinguished visitors, including Christoph Ploß, Coordinator of the Federal Government for the Maritime Economy and Tourism, together with members of his team, and Klaus Maak, Director of Maritime Cluster Northern Germany (MCN), accompanied by representatives of the cluster. Their visit provided an opportunity to present the capabilities of Greek maritime equipment manufacturers and discuss developments affecting the wider maritime sector.

Among the activities organised at the Pavilion was the presentation by representatives of the European Commission, focusing on European funding opportunities and current policy developments relevant to the maritime sector. The discussion attracted strong interest and provided useful insights into ongoing initiatives at European level.

SMM Hamburg remains one of the most important international meetings points for the maritime industry and the broad participation of HEMEXPO members once again demonstrated the growing visibility of Greek maritime equipment manufacturers on the international scene.

We would like to thank Enterprise Greece for its support of the Greek participation, as well as the German-Hellenic Chamber of Industry and Commerce for its continued support and cooperation.
